Menopause: What to Expect When You’re Not Expecting Menopause.
When I started writing the story of my wild ride toward menopause four years ago, none of my friends would cop to “the change.” My best friend, since we were 12, had been postmenopausal for three years when I asked her for help, and she’d never told me. Imagine getting our periods, having sex for the first time, having babies or a miscarriage, getting an abortion, a hysterectomy, fertility treatments, …none of this would go undeclared or unexamined. But about this, we’re silent?!
I don’t want that for you. I want you to know what to expect, know what to ask, so I put together a resources page where you’ll get what you need. I’d love to post your nuggets of gold, too. Tell your stories, give advice, ask questions, dive deep into everything, laugh and cry a lot. Let’s write What to Expect When You’re Not Expecting Menopause together.
I hope you’ll get some comic relief here. You’ll notice that the bloggers I follow and the podcasters I link to tend to cope with big doses of humor; that’s what saved me. Check them out and tell all your friends.
Rock on with your bad selves, every day. Know I’m here for you.
